it isn't that hard. you just to have to select an image that you want to give an effect like illdesign.com's splash image.
select an image, copy and paste the image on a new canvas, now select the 'Single Column Marque tool' from the toolbar in photoshop and click on the last pixel of the image (right hand side where the canvas is ending on horizontal axis), now you have selected last pixel of the image, make that selected part a Pattern (goto Edit -> Define Pattern). Now increase the widht of the canvas (as wider as you want the effect to be) Since you have selected the last pixel of the image and now you are going to extend it to the end. all you have to do is now create a new layer under the image and apply that pattern to this layer. to apply the pattern goto Edit->Fill and then select pattern from the drop down menu.
keep in mind to put the original image on extreme left. that's it =) |
