I am still learning all the different formats of multimedia, and would love some help/advice on what can I do in this situation.
Using Photoshop, I want to learn how to make images blend in with solid background colours. Or even using some of the Images in your tutorials!
I'm currently learning dreamweaver and want to make background images that will blend in with the surrounding Nav Bar and Header Colors I choose.
I do have fireworks as well, if that will work better for me.
Any input would be wonderful!

I'm not quite sure I understand the question but
I will try to help you as best i can.
I created an image 800x600 @72resolution.
I made the background blue
I created another layer and put an image on it.
Then you can do several things here.
1) Play with the color modes to get desired effect
2) Play with transparency of that layer to get desired effect
3) Play with the vector mask to get what you want.
If your not familiar with vector mask try this for starters
to get a feel for it.
Once you have your image on the second layer look over
to the layers palette and at the bottom of it you will see 6
icons one being the trashcan. The first one is an F in a black
circle and the second one is a white circle in a grey square.
(Thats the vector mask button) click on it and you will see
a white box appear to the right of that image in the layers palette.
Now grab the gradient tool, USE BLACK AND WHITE for starters,
and click and drag a gradient onto that mask and VOILA some of your
image is now invisible with a nice flow from picture to background.
HOPE THIS HELPS ! ! Good Luck |

Thanks for help, The info you have given me was great thanks for all the ideas! it has worked to my liking!
Sorry if I confused you with what I was asking, I'm gonna learn the lingo and terms soon. Cause I know I will be asking for more help in the future.
Although I'll definately need to get more practice working with vector masks.
Thanks again! |
